Roundup: Dakota pitcher Gracie Maloney spins no-hitter

Monday’s 3-0 win for the Dakota Cougars was Gracie Maloney’s day. The senior spun a complete game no-hitter, striking out 14 hitters with only one walk. It builds on an 18.1 hitless streak for the pitcher.

Anchor Bay 8, Chippewa Valley 1

Carter McKoan threw six innings for the Tars, allowing just one earned run. Ty Finkbeiner and Brooklin Marcum both had two hits for AB.

Parkway Christian 8, Novi Christian 0

Kyler Maiorana was once again the star for Parkway, striking out 11 batters while surrenderi­ng only three hits in the shutout win. The Eagles scored six of their eight runs in the first inning.

Lakeview 7, Marysville 0 Lakeview 8, Marysville 2 Utica 10, St. Clair 5

Jack Miller ripped three hits, including two doubles with two RBIs for Utica. Denver Billy and Kellen Condon each had two hits.

Anchor Bay 6, Chippewa Valley 1

Ty Finkbeier threw 2.2 innings with four strikeouts and Mason Erikson spelled him, throwing 4.1 innings with five punchouts. Mason Stryker had the big hit of the game with a 3-run home run.

Eisenhower 13, Grosse Pointe North 11

CJ Rockafello­w led the offensive attack for Ike, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two walks. Talan Pickens nearly hit a grand slam, but settled for a two-run double. Brandon Kedrow and Drew Baker each added two RBIs and Owen Van Dam had three.

Eisenhower 12, Grosse Pointe North 2

Devon Erfourth drilled a two-run home run, while Noah Parsons had two hits and three RBIs. Nico Fodale

drove in two.

Lutheran North 14, Gabriel Richard 2

Brayden Monroe went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Lucas Mackenzie drove in three runs, Nathan Vani smacked three hits and Joey Chabot hit a two-run home run.

Stevenson 5, Eisenhower 1

Ty Jenkins struck out 10 Eagles in the win while Titans Brett Leonard and Carson Sweet each knocked three hits.

SOFTBALL

Parkway Christian 17, Sterling Heights 2

The Eagles scored 13 runs in the second inning, and Josie Boutorwick led the team with two hits. Sterling Heights’ Chloe Taylor went 2-for-2 in the game.

Marysville 12, L’anse Cruese North 5

Camry Eveningred drove in four runs for the Vikings and Addilyn Vagi smacked a two-run home run.

Dakota 11, Eisenhower 0 St. Ursula 4, Regina 3 Regina 8, St. Ursula 3

Jeneveve Lewis earned her first varsity win, allowing just three hits with one earned run in seven innings. Megan Grzywacz hit a home run.

The Eagles scored seven runs in the second inning to help lead the way to a win.

Stevenson had the top two finishers in Lucas Timbuc (36) and Tim Meister (38). Lakeview’s Gage Kolley (42) finished third ahead of Titans Jake Fenwick (44) and Andrew Kotcher (45), and Huskies Charlie Maniaci (48), Vance Harvey (50) and Hunter Kornack (61) rounded out the field.
