Denis Yoshio Nishihara

Memoriam of our amazing dad, our supportive brother, our close friend, and wonderful husband…

-

For those of us privileged enough to know,

Mr. Denis Yoshio Nishihara (03/10/38-04/04/10) during his life with us; we fondly remember him simply as, “Guy.” His nickname for others entertainingly became his nickname. Everywhere

Denis went, the family whistle or call… “Eh, Guy,” would follow. His kind spirit and jovial demeanor will fill our hearts forever.

It has been 10-long years since we were able to hear your voice or join in laughter together. The paths we have all followed since you’ve been with Jesus has challenged and strengthened us. Granted we wish you were here to hold our hands along the journey, but we know you’ve never left our side. You’ve been here all along. In our minds, our stories, our children and our spirits. We miss your physical presence! Your helpful nature and reassuring perspective encouraged everyone you met.

You were someone everyone loved to be around. You would tell the most intriguing and hilarious stories. You could fix, retrofit and build practically anything for family and friends (and many times you did). Your hands were callous, but your heart was pure gold! As your son, I can still smell your Wildroot and in my dreams, I see the bottle distinctly in my memory. I pray one day to be as phenomenal as you.

You were the person anyone could depend on. You were the father and grandfather of all wisdom and joy. You were the big brother your sisters and mother could always count on. You were the husband who always took care of everyone’s needs. You were the guy!

WE LOVE YOU!
