Violet H. Uwekoolani, 92, of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully on March 23, 2020. Violet was born on May 14, 1927, to Peter & Helen (Hoopi'i) Haupu Sr. in Hana, Maui.

Born and raised in Hana, Maui. and grew up there with her siblings. She attended Hana High School after graduating she worked in the tourism industry for numerous Hotels & Resorts on Maui. Her last employer, she worked as a Nurse-aide for Hale Makua and retired after 25 years of service. She was a homemaker and gardener who enjoyed arts & crafts, and always enjoyed spending time with all her ohana whom she loved and cared for so much.

Violet is predecease­d by her loving husband, Charles Moanaliha Uwekoolani Sr.; sons, Charles M. Uwekoolani Jr., Wayne E.M. Uwekoolani and Danny K.M. Uwekoolani; daughters, Irene Uwekoolani, Janis Judd, and Maile (John Sr.) Rivera; great grandson, Shane Uwekoolani; siblings, Peter Haupu Jr., Ronald Haupu, Margaret Carrizosa and Lilac Marquez.

She is surivied by daughters, Bobbie Jean Lovato and Mona Uwekoolani; son, Sanford (Maria) Uwekoolani Sr.; daughter in-law, Phyllis Uwekoolani, Debbie Uwekoolani; grandchild­ren, Anthony Martin, Kalani Uwekoolani, John (Jere) Rivera Jr., Daniel Uwekoolani Jr., Chelsea Kahala (Walter Vierra) Uwekoolani-Vierra, William Keli'i Rivera, Juanita Uwekoolani, Janel (Darrel) Rivera, Charles Kaeha Jr., Christy Uwekoolani, Renee Friend, Eugene Uwekoolani, Sanford Uwekoolani Jr., Shayla Uwekoolani, Kamila Uwekoolani and Natasha Leilehua Uwekoolani; 24 great grandchild­ren, and 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Harold Haupu Sr., and Miulan Villaren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Nakamura Mortuary from 9:00am to 11:30am; with service to begin at 11:30am. Burial to follow at Maui Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00pm.
