Joseph Doyle "Napili Joe" Kobatake

It is with great sadness that the Kobatake Ohana announces the passing of Joseph Doyle Kobatake, 75, of Napili on June 14, 2020. Joseph “Napili Joe” Kobatake was born to Fred and Fusano Kobatake on September 8, 1944 in Lahaina, Hawaii. He is survived by his sons; Dean “Kaleo” (Jaimie) Kobatake, Dwight (Kanela Dean) Kobatake and Dwayne (Mary-Ann) Kobatake; Life companion Firmina Carmen Ribucan; Hanai Sons; Alfred Ribucan, Sean (Stacy) Ribucan, Derrick (Jocelyn) Ribucan and 12 grandchild­ren.

Kobatake proudly served his country during the Vietnam war and attained the rank of SP4-E4 with the United States Army. He retired from the Royal Lahaina Resort after 40 years of service as an Engineer. He was an avid CB enthusiast, Hot Rodder, diver, fisherman and enjoyed a good paina. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, smile and most of all, his laugh. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Nakamura mortuary will be assisting the family with all arrangemen­ts. Services will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Nakamura Mortuary. Public viewing at 11:30 AM, with service at 12:30 PM, and burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park in

Wailuku at 2:00 PM.
