Carol Lynn Beard, 72, of Haiku, Maui, passed away peacefully at her home in Haiku on November 10, 2020. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 26, 1948.

Carol moved from Oklahoma to California at a young age with her family. She attended Arroyo High School in California, then went on to study accounting/CPA at Orange Coast College, and continued her education studying financial accounting at Mt. San Antonio College. In 1973 she and her boyfriend at the time Jack Beard moved to Maui with a one way ticket and not much else. Shortly after moving, Carol and Jack got married on Maui and made the Island their permanent home. They lived in a cottage on the beach in Kihei while raising their son Jake, and eventually moved to Almosta Road - which they named - and eventually built their dream home in Haiku.

After moving to Maui, Carol worked as a bartender in several restaurants. A few years later Carol became a Realtor for Maui Island Investments Real Estate. She was named Agent of the year in 1991. After many years of success as a realtor she decided to join her husband Jack with his small business, Jack’s Carpet Cleaning. Carol devoted all of her time to Jack’s Carpet Cleaning, the powerhouse in the office. Her hard work, dedication to the company’s growth and success made what Jack’s Carpet Cleaning is today. After many years Carol officially retired in 2019. Carol had a sparkling personality, and was always the life of the party with a terrific sense of humor. She crocheted many a bikini for her friends, as she loved going to the beach and soaking up the rays. Maui definitely welcomed the Beards into its culture. Carol enjoyed fishing excursions with her husband and friends on their boat, loved playing tennis with her friends, learned puka ball and mastered the game, and was always willing to try the latest exercise class like jazzercise and aerobics. She was a fabulous cook and made the best eggplant parmesan on the planet. She was a doting Grandmother to her 2 Grandsons whom she loved dearly.

Carol is survived by her husband Jack, her son Jake and daughter-in-law Sesa, and her 2 grandsons Nate and Seth, and 6 nieces and nephews.

Carol will be greatly missed by her many friends on Maui and the Mainland as she was truly one-of-a-kind.

Due to Covid 19, the family will not be holding a service at this time. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
