, 80, of Kahului, Hawaii passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born at Pahala Ka‘u,

Hawaii on October 10, 1940.

Ron was always a hard worker throughout his life. After graduating from Farrington

High School in 1958, he helped with the family business at Aki’s Service Station on

School Street as the lead mechanic. Ron then moved his family to Pukalani, Maui in

1970. He worked as a carpenter, park caretaker at Haleakala National Park and maintenanc­e worker at Sands of Kahana. Prior to retiring he worked as a meat cutter at Napili Market for many years. He was a wonderful husband, dad, papa and tutu papa that could fix just about everything. He enjoyed fishing, diving, and shooting at the Ukumehame Firing Range. He especially enjoyed his annual family tradition of visiting the 9th Hawaiian Island, Las Vegas.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Dolores and children Laurie (Johnny) Vares, Susie Sato Wightman, Joanne (Matt) Stevenson, Daniel Kalani Sato, and Didi (Keoni) Hoopii. Grandchild­ren: Justin (Eliza) Quenga, Joshua (Dee) Quenga, Jordan (Kaysha) Quenga, Kailani Bayong, Thomas Stevenson, Sarah Stevenson, Nohea Hoopii, Nalani Stevenson, Meleana Hoopii, Kamaka Hoopii and 10 great grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jean (Wayne) Pelland and brother, Alvin (Lynn) Sato. Ron is predecease­d by his parents, Akira and Kimiko Iseri Sato, sister: Leilani Tadlas.

Private family services were held on December 10, 2020. Until we meet again in Heaven….RIL
