Latest developments:
State Department of Health on Friday reported 1,192 new confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 699 cases on Oahu, 186 on Hawaii island, 156 on Maui, 117 on Kauai, four on Molokai, two on Lanai and 28 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.
There have now been 224,257 confirmed and probable cases statewide, including 156,706 on Oahu, 28,076 in Maui County (26,630 on Maui, 881 on Molokai and 565 on Lanai), 24,071 in Hawaii County and 10,206 on Kauai. A total of 5,198 Hawaii residents have been diagnosed outside of the state.
Ten new deaths were reported Friday; the statewide fatality count is now at 1,204.
Hawaii has reached a 75 percent vaccination rate of the total population statewide, with Honolulu County at 78 percent, Kauai County at 71 percent, Maui County at 68 percent and Hawaii County at 66 percent.
As of 9 a.m. Friday, there were 38 people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center — 21 unvaccinated and 17 vaccinated, including three who received their booster shots. There were two unvaccinated patients in the ICU. There were no patients on a ventilator.
