True meaning of marriage still valued by our society

-

Marriage, what is marriage? Marriage, a phenomenon that embraces a lifetime to commit because of love, honor, respect, trust; for better or worse, in sickness or health, rich or poor and no one should asunder.

What is love? Have we forgotten the special meaning of love where growing old together matters?

Where after more than 50 years of togetherness, we still see our beloved heart the same way 50 years or so ago. Where wrinkle’s invisible; the extra bulk on the center frontal is the badge of honor for the authentically of dignity; receding or thinning hair goes unnoticed, white hair becomes the symbol of devotion. These are indication of well-rewarded meaningful life.

Sure, there are arguments, frustration along the way, but love conquers patience and selflessness. Respect intertwines with the love for each other. Trust because we have emerged as one. We become each other’s helping hand as we take our steps slower than usual. We become each other’s guiding light to a blurry vision and each other’s music as our sound dwindles down. And at the end, death, most likely would not allow to be apart.

With today’s society, marriage should be sheltered by imploring prenuptial agreement without malice and perceived as the bonding for love, trust and commitment. We should hold and keep what was bestowed upon, the value of marriage. I hope, this past Valentine’s Day, we defined the true meaning of love, the true meaning of commitment, the true meaning of marriage.
