Stella Leonor Jaimes went to be with the Lord peacefully at the age of 82 on Monday, May 2, 2022. Stella was born February 23, 1940, in Bogota, Columbia to Julio and Cecilia Botero. As a young girl Stella enjoyed playing with her siblings in the country-side. She loved to ride her horse bare back at very high speeds. Stella went on to complete her education through high school.

At the age of 24 she took a trip to Mexico City to visit her sister. While on vacation she met the love of her life Jose Raul Jaimes. After a short courtship they got married in 1965. A year later she gave birth to Nestor Jaimes in Mexico.

In search of the American dream Raul and Stella immigrated to the island of Oahu where Stella gave birth to Raul Jaimes and five years later Michael Jaimes. Stella spent the early years of motherhood nurturing and taking care of her children. When an opportunity presented itself Raul and Stella opened their first Mexican Restaurant, Taco Azteca in Waikiki. They went on to open five more restaurants over the course of their lifetime on Oahu, San Diego, and Maui. The Maui restaurants were Papa’s and Chiles and Fiesta Time. She poured her heart into every dish she prepared. Stella put thousands of smiles on people’s faces with her cooking.

Stella had a full life as a mother, business owner and wife of 56years. She worked hard to do her best in everything she did and always put others before herself.

Services will be held at Christ the King, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 11:00am to 12:30pm with mass to begin at 12:30pm.
