GOLF
May 22—The First Tee Hawaii, a nonprofit youth organization dedicated to teaching keiki the fundamentals of golf and life skills, is looking for parents, coaches and volunteers for the 2022 season. The First Tee national headquarters will be providing training for entry level coaches on May 20-21 at the Ala Wai Golf Center in Honolulu and May 22-23 at The Dunes at Maui Lani. All training is provided free of charge. Volunteer opportunities are available as assistant golf coaches, on-course mentors, registration administrators, golf equipment coordinators, safety coordinators and special events coordinators and assistants. All levels of player and non-players from other professions are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteers are asked to commit to an average of two hours per week depending on their schedule. SOCCER
June 2—The Ho‘omau Soccer Camp is scheduled for June 2-4 at Kamehameha Schools Maui’s Kanaiaupuni Stadium. The camp is open to players in high school and the eighth grade. Sessions run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Campers will have the opportunity to work with college coaches from Western Oregon, Linfield, Pacific University, Eastern Oregon and Columbia Basin (Wash.).
