Man gets 20 years in prison for sex assaults
WAILUKU – A Kihei man is serving prison terms totaling 20 years for sexually assaulting four women and arranging to meet someone posing as an underage girl for sex.
Abiola Oluwatimilehin, 24, who is also known as David Abiola, faced additional charges after victims came forward to report earlier sexual assaults following his arrest March 12, 2021, in Operation Keiki Shield, an undercover law enforcement operation targeting child sexual predators.
In that case, Oluwatimilehin was arrested after going to an arranged meeting place to have sex with a special agent posing as a minor under age 18, according to court records.
In four criminal cases, Oluwatimilehin had pleaded guilty to two counts of seconddegree sexual assault, attempted second-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and first-degree electronic enticement of a child. Other charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
In one case, he sexually assaulted a woman while she was sleeping at her residence in February 2018, according to court records. The woman was a roommate of a someone Oluwatimilehin had met on an online dating app, according to court records.
A girl under age 18 was sexually assaulted in September 2016, and another woman was sexually assaulted between July 2016 and August 2017. An attempted sexual assault of a woman occurred in November 2020.
Some of the victims reported being sexually assaulted by Oluwatimilehin in the past after seeing news reports about his arrest as part of Operation Keiki Shield, police said.
Under the plea agreement, the prosecution could argue for up to 20 years in prison.
Second Circuit Judge Kirstin Hamman imposed consecutive sentencing for a total of 20 years when Oluwatimilehin was sentenced Dec. 7.
