Gerard “Jerry” Mazzacano

-

Gerard Francis Mazzacano, 81, passed away peacefully as he fell asleep at Maui Memorial Hospital on February 20, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 19,1942 to Joseph and Louise Mazzacano. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on a date to be announced.

Jerry was a kind and generous man. He was so happy in his life, he never wanted to leave Maui again. He had been everywhere and done everything he wished for. He did not want for anything.

He loved singing Karaoke, sometimes several times per week at Sansei, Life’s a Beach and other locations. He also spent many days at the beach, playing his music and feeding popcorn to the birds. Countless children and many adults learned how to feed the birds and will continue his legacy.

Jerry was always growing new varieties of plants along with caring for all the fruits, flowers, trees and grass in his yard. He thrived on being in nature, and loved the many compliments that he received on the beauty of his passion.

He was also passionate about his sports teams; the Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and so many others.

Jerry’s last day was exceptional. Both his sons came together at the hospital where they all spent time cracking jokes, reminiscing and being present in the moment with their Dad. Jerry was in an exceptionally happy mood. The three Mazzacano men enjoyed the time and special memories made in their last day together.

Jerry will always and forever be in our hearts with joyful memories.

Gerard Francis Mazzacano was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ruth Mazzacano. He is survived by his sons Joseph (Chanelle) Mazzacano and James Mazzacano, his grand- children Reid and Samantha Mazzacano, and his Fiancee, Susan Schmidt.
