Wa­ter is­sues in Ki­pahulu Dis­trict

Haleakala Na­tional Park Ki­pahulu Dis­trict of­fi­cials have had to make emer­gency re­pairs to the park’s main water­line, which has re­sulted in wa­ter foun­tain and re­stroom clo­sures, park of­fi­cials said Fri­day.

Vis­i­tors to the Ki­pahulu Dis­trict are urged to bring their own drink­ing wa­ter and should plan to use por­ta­ble toi­lets un­til fur­ther no­tice, said parks spokesman Charles Las­siter in a news re­lease.

Park staff is work­ing to re­store re­stroom and wa­ter avail­abil­ity as quickly as pos­si­ble, he said.

Las­siter re­minded the pub­lic that the Pools of Oheo re­mains closed un­til work to re­duce rock slides is com­pleted.
