Pono Network to hold event Sunday
Calling the election of five of its backed County Council candidates “a new dawn in county government,” the Maui Pono Network announced it would have an “‘Ohana Candidate Appreciations Celebration” from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars beach venue in Kihei.
Members of the public are invited “to celebrate the dedication and courage of all ‘Ohana candidates and their supporters.”
There will be a community potluck, live music and an appreciations ceremony.
The five elected coalitionbacked County Council candidates were Council Member Kelly King (South Maui) and Council Members-elect Shane Sinenci (East Maui), Tamara Paltin (West Maui), Natalie “Tasha” Kama (Kahului) and Keani Rawlins-Fernandez (Molokai).
