Travelers advised of limited airport parking
Construction and improvement projects in Kahului, Oahu ‘temporarily’ cut some capacity
The state Department of Transportation is alerting travelers about limited parking at state airports, including Kahului Airport where construction is ongoing on the Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility.
That work has “temporarily reduced the amount of available parking at Kahului,” which may be taken as an understatement by anyone who’s tried to park recently during construction work at the Valley Isle airport. More parking was made available for employees at Kahului Airport.

The state advisory about limited airport parking came Friday, the day before the three-day Veterans Day weekend, traditionally a busy time for traveling.
State officials encouraged travelers to get dropped off at the airport, carpool or find another way to get to the airport.
Travel to Oahu is heavy because of the Bruno Mars concerts.
At the Daniel K. International Airport, two airport improvement projects have reduced the number of available parking spots by more than 600. The projects include construction of the mauka concourse, which closed Lot B.
