WAILUKU — A man charged with robbing a Wailuku business is facing additional charges alleging he illegally possessed ammunition and drugs.

Kapuaoheoheolanieh Harrell, 30, of Wailuku was arrested Tuesday on charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition, third-degree promoting of a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $150,000 for Harrell, who pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Thursday in 2nd Circuit Court.

The charges stem from a traffic stop Oct. 10 when Harrell was found with 9 mm ammunition and methamphetamine, according to police.

Harrell and co-defendant William Keliihoomalu, 31, of Wailuku are awaiting trial for the April 24, 2017, robbery of Tokyo Lounge.

The robbery occurred at about 10 p.m. when two masked men broke a door to enter the business at 315 Hookahi St., police said.

One man had a Ruger .223caliber Mini-14 rifle, which he pointed at patrons in the back gaming room, according to police. A patron grabbed the rifle and struggled with the robber over the weapon before he grabbed the rifle back and ran, police said.

The other robber had a baseball bat and took the owner’s purse containing cash as he fled, police said.

A March 11 trial is set for Keliihoomalu and Harrell.

Harrell had been released after posting $20,000 bail before he was arrested this week.
