Fa­tal bus crashes in Ottawa, Cuba

Ten peo­ple have been killed in sep­a­rate bus crashes in Canada and Cuba.

On Fri­day, a dou­ble-deck city bus smashed into a tran­sit shel­ter dur­ing rush hour. Ottawa au­thor­i­ties said three peo­ple were killed and 23 in­jured.

Mayor Jim Wat­son said two of the dead were on the bus and the other was in the shel­ter.

On Thurs­day, seven peo­ple died af­ter a bus crashed car­ry­ing tourists and lo­cal trav­el­ers in far eastern Cuba. Five are in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

The bus was car­ry­ing 18 Cubans and 22 tourists from Europe, Mex­ico and Canada when it crashed Thurs­day be­tween the cities of Bara­coa and Guan­tanamo.
