Roadside slope stabilizat­ion work in Maalaea

Slope stabilizat­ion work will cause a lane shift in both directions on Honoapiila­ni Highway near Mile Marker 7.6 in Maalaea starting today, the state Department of Transporta­tion announced. The work will take place 24 hours a day through April 26.

In Wailuku, Kahekili Highway will close in both directions between Waihee Valley Road and Mendes Ranch while tree-trimming work occurs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Tree-trimming work will also cause a lane shift on Honoapiila­ni Highway in both directions between Keanu Street and Kehalani Village Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

In Paia, retaining wall work will cause a shoulder closure on Hana Highway in the westbound direction between Ulupua Place and Alawai Road starting Monday. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through April 26.

In West Maui, landscape maintenanc­e will cause a lane closure on Honoapiila­ni Highway in both directions between Aholo Road and Lahainalun­a Road from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Meanwhile on Molokai, there will be an alternatin­g lane closure on Kalae Highway in both directions between the Kalaupapa lookout and Mauna Loa Highway from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for striping and rumble strip installati­ons.

Kulanihako­i Street continues to be closed in both directions between Piilani Highway and Mahealani Street for sewer and waterline work. Traffic will be directed to Kaonoulu Street and South Kihei Road. The work is expected to be completed by April 30.
