Latest developmen­ts:

■ State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 41 new cases as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, including 28 on Oahu, eight on Maui, one on Hawaii island, one on Lanai and three residents diagnosed outside the state.

■ There have now been 28,892 cases statewide, including 22,638 on Oahu, 2,780 in Maui County (2,637 on Maui, 110 on Lanai and 33 on Molokai), 2,385 on Hawaii island and 187 on Kauai. A total of 902 residents have been diagnosed out of state.

■ No new deaths were reported on Tuesday. There remain 454 fatalities statewide, including 361 on Oahu, 53 on Hawaii island, 36 on Maui, one on Kauai and three residents who died out of state.

■ About 1,300 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were compromise­d when a refrigerat­or door malfunctio­ned, Maui Health said Tuesday.

■ Another Maui Community Correction­al Center inmate tested positive for COVID-19, while three others recovered, putting the number of active cases at three, the state Department of Public Safety reported Tuesday.

■ As of Tuesday, 32.7 percent of Kauai County's total population had received at least one dose of the vaccine, followed by Hawaii and Honolulu counties at 23.4 percent each and Maui County at 22.9 percent.

■ Maui had the most COVID-19 hospitaliz­ations with 18 as of 8:30 a.m. Friday, the latest data available. Oahu had 12 and other islands had none.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 tips:

■ Fever and cough are symptoms.

■ Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your health care provider immediatel­y.

■ Keep track of symptoms.

■ If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.

■ Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness.

Methods for preventing illness include:

■ Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after nose-blowing, coughing or sneezing.

■ If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.

■ Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

■ Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.

■ Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.

■ Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.

■ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertop­s, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
