Four victims come forward after Kihei man arrested

Four victims have reported being sexually abused by a 23year-old Kihei man, following his arrest two weeks ago for allegedly soliciting sex online from someone posing as a 13year-old girl, police said.

Abiola Oluwatimil­ehin, who is also known as David Abiola, was among seven men charged with first-degree electronic enticement of a child after arrests March 12 to 14 as part of “Operation Keiki Shield 7.”

Police worked with state and federal law enforcemen­t officials to carry out the operation targeting online sexual predators.

As a result of news reports about the arrests, “four victims have come forward to report Oluwatimil­ehin sexually abused them in the past,” police said in a news release Thursday.

Three victims reported they were sexually assaulted by Oluwatimil­ehin in 2015, 2016 and 2018, police said. A fourth victim reported that Oluwatimil­ehin attempted to sexually assault her last year.

Police encouraged anyone who may have been a victim of sexual assault to call police at 244-6400.

During a hearing Wednesday, 2nd Circuit Judge Rhonda Loo kept bail at $150,000 for Oluwatimil­ehin, who has pleaded not guilty to first-degree electronic enticement of a child.

At the time of his arrest, Oluwatimil­ehin posted a $21,000 bail bond to be released was among seven men charged with first-degree electronic enticement of a child after arrests March 12 to 14 as part of “Operation Keiki Shield 7.”

on charges of seconddegr­ee sexual assault and thirddegre­e sexual assault in another case, said Deputy Prosecutor J.W. Hupp.

Oluwatimil­ehin’s bail was surrendere­d in the case, said Deputy Public Defender Danielle Sears, who asked for his bail to be reduced to $100,000.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges alleging he sexually assaulted a woman while she was sleeping at her residence in February 2018. The woman was a roommate of a someone Oluwatimil­ehin had met on an online dating app, according to court records.

Oluwatimil­ehin appeared by videoconfe­rence from the Maui Community Correction­al Center for the hearing Wednesday.
