Medical miracle workers astounding at their jobs

-

We recently had a medical emergency at our home involving unconsciousness after three major seizures that occurred between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. We called 911 after the more devastating third seizure and both the Wailea Fire Department and the Maui Meadows-stationed ambulance service responded. You always hope to be able to avoid the need for such a medical response, but our luck to evade ran out with this event.

We have to express our deepest mahalo to all of the medical professionals involved on our case, including the 911 operator, both the service responders, Maui Memorial Medical Center and Kaiser Medical. We could not be more pleased with the medical response and the following three days of hospital care we received.

Two weeks have now passed and with returning strength we went out on a short walk through our neighborhood. We came across the same Kihei-area ambulance responding to another neighbor’s need, this time in Maui Meadows.

That reminder of our own experience compelled us to again give thanks for the great care we had received while sincerely hoping for the best outcome for this patient as well.

The COVID-19 crisis makes the whole medical response protocol so much more difficult for all of the medical professionals involved in emergency services. Somehow, they find a way to prioritize challenges and help us through our medical emergencies, and they do their amazing work regardless of outside challenges. Please accept our heartfelt mahalo!

Life is short, stay thankful.
