Three arrested after police recover drugs, firearm components
Police arrested three people and reported recovering drugs, self-manufactured firearm components, ammunition and cash in searches last week at a residence in Kihei.
Kihei residents Kaelan Starmer, 29, Alison Hethcote, 59, and Kailani Rush, 26, were arrested after Crime Reduction Unit and Special Response Team officers executed search warrants at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the residence, police said.
Police reported recovering 3.22 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 60.17 grams of heroin, 2.71 grams of fentanyl powder, 3.56 grams of red methadone powder, 81 methadone 40-mg pills, 83 methadone hydrochloride 10mg pills, three morphine sulfate 30-mg pills, six buprenorphine hydrochloride 8-mg pills, two morphine sulfate 15mg pills, two suspected M30 fentanyl pills, three and a half buprenorphine hydrochloride and naloxone hydrochloride (sublingual) pills, two alprazolam pills, drug paraphernalia and $711 in cash.
Officers also recovered a switchblade knife, a selfmanufactured AR-Platform lower receiver with no serial number, a self-manufactured suppressor starter kit, a large 3D printer, five rolls of 3D printer filament, two Micro-Roni pistol conversion kits, 134 green tip 5.56-caliber ammunition, seven live 9 mm ammunition, a self-manufactured Polymer 80 lower receiver pistol kit, eight self-manufactured lower receiver pistol jigs and six self-manufactured ARPlatform lower receiver rifle jigs.
Starmer, Hethcote and Rush were each charged with five counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, three counts of third-degree promotion of a harmful drug and possession of a switchblade knife.
Starmer also was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia, use of a firearm in a felony drug offense, prohibited possession of a firearm and other firearm offenses.
His bail was set at $252,250. Hethcote and Rush each also were charged with another count of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. Their bail was set at $185,000 each.
All three remained in police custody Monday.
