Farmers improve to 4-0 with win over Dragons

Heath Lopez drove in two runs and pitched 2 1/3 innings to help the Molokai High School baseball team defeat Hana 10-4 on Saturday in Hoolehua.

Miken Loo got the win on the mound for the Farmers, taking over for Lopez and tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out seven with one walk and one hit by pitch. From the plate, Loo was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Molokai scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning en route to improving to 4-0 in Maui Interschol­astic League Division II play. The Dragons fell to 0-4. At the Maui High field Saturday in Kahului, Seabury Hall upped its record to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory over Lanai.

Spartans starter Bryson Tasaki struck out 12 over six innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk. Asher Halik pitched a scoreless seventh, striking out two, for the save.

The Pine Lads fell to 0-3. Seabury and Lanai, which had its scheduled game on Friday postponed due to weather, began a second game Saturday that was suspended after 3 1/2 innings with the Spartans leading the Pine Lads 4-1.
