Rec District honors Lisa Colvin for her many years of service
Each year the Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District recognizes outstanding members of our community for their service and support. At its regular meeting on Dec. 18, 2019, the MCRPD board approved the nomination for Lisa Colvin to be a recipient of the 2019 MCRPD Distinguished Service Award.
This award is in honor and recognition of Colvin’s volunteer service and selfless dedication to the mission and spirit of MCRPD has accomplished much for the residents of the district.
Since the C.V. Starr Community Center opened its doors in 2009, Colvin has been working as a volunteer water safety instructor for the MCRPD Second Grade Swim Program.
During each school year, Lisa donates approximately 100 hours to this program and has a positive impact on the lives of nearly 200 children. Lisa has also volunteered as a water exercise instructor, has taught beginning computer classes and served for several years as the treasurer for the nonprofit organization, Friends of MCRPD.
It was a great honor to present the 2019 MCRPD Distinguished Service Award to Lisa Colvin.
