Winesong! goes virtual,
Winesong! has long been a celebration of regional art, wine and culinary treasures as well as highlighting the phenomenal beauty of the Mendocino Coast. With the backdrop of the ocean and bluffs by the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, this event has been attended by dedicated supporters from both near and far for over 35 years.
Because of COVID-19, the annual weekend-long party has been postponed, and the Winesong! Foundation has pivoted to an all-virtual event.
Featuring virtual pinot noir tastings and an online auction, there will also be a public broadcast Saturday, Sept. 12, to showcase the dedicated contributors, staff, board and volunteers who support the Foundation’s mission.
Presented by the Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation, Winesong! has been a significant source of the more than $8 million distributed to Adventist Health — Mendocino Coast (formerly Mendocino Coast District Hospital), ensuring the community has access to the type of innovative technology rarely found in other rural areas. The Foundation now has a broader focus to benefit every aspect of what makes the coast community a space for health and wellness.
Not to be deterred by restrictions or shelter-in-place orders, the foundation has begun a grassroots style fundraising outreach program to meet the needs of our non-profit healthcare partners and clinics. Our 2020 Fund-A-Need goal of $200,000 will be distributed to help our most vulnerable at this critical time.
