Huge thank you to all

EDITOR: Once again Cucina Verona has shown their outstanding care for this community of elders. They are part of the Great Plates program created by Governor Newsom. Restaurants are offered financial support for providing meals to help keep vulnerable elderly people in their homes and at the same time keep restaurants financially functioning and provide jobs for people preparing and delivering the meals! Pretty amazing program!

Cucina Verona, Wild Fish and Eggheads opted into this challenging program. They prepare and deliver three meals a day for the elderly in our community. It is no small challenge for a restaurant to convert their menu to feeding 100 people three meals per day. This is a challenge for any restaurant that normally feeds us per order or high-end catering! I commend Cucina Verona for doing an amazing shift and for their heartfelt generosity and kindness.

They generally provide three outstanding well-prepared meals a day for at least 100 people. This alone is commendable. They also go way beyond what is required! For example, on Christmas Eve they sent a very expensive and elaborate traditional Italian meal with a detailed letter explaining the entire tradition. “Seven Fishes” included lobster, clams, oysters, mussels, calamari, prawns and scallops! Dessert was also a very expensive Panettone with mascarpone sauce! Joe and Kathleen’s generosity is stunning. The young delivery drivers are always cheerful and kind. This is not an easy job but, it keeps them employed. We need to commend them and their entire staff by making reservations when this trial is all over!

They are among so many local groups working with neighbors and friends to serve, love and protect each other! Huge thank you to all.
