Food Bank still in need as new year begins

This year, thanks to a few last-minute donations, the Fort Bragg Advocate-News and The Mendocino Beacon’s 24th Annual Season of Sharing totaled $19,180 for the Fort Bragg Food Bank. Donors Nancy and Charles Jenkins, Robert and Nancy Jorgenson and a last-minute, anonymous cash donation added to everyone’s generous donations for this year’s fundraiser.
Hunger is a harsh reality. The first place many Americans find relief is a neighborhood food pantry.
Someone once said we are stewards of each other’s dignity. What can you do? Plant some produce, buy some seeds, share the results of this labor with your local Food Bank, donate dollars, donate your time. Acknowledge those who have less. Do you really see the people you pass by every day? The children of Food Bank clients need food so they can grow up with dignity. Have you ever had to pick between medicine and food on the table for your family? Those who are food insecure certainly have.
Your annual Season of Sharing donations to the Fort Bragg Food Bank are appreciated by each and every one of those who are in need and are aided by our local Food Bank. Remember the Food Bank is open year-round — helping those who need them most.
