EDITOR: Dear Mendocino County Resident, Are you feeling inspired to take a more active role in local government? According to the Millennial Action Project (MAP), an organization that tracks young people running for office across the country recorded a number of people less than 45 years of age ran for office this past year. Millennial candidates said, “They want a hand in shaping policy that will affect their future.” Don’t you, too?

Mo Mulheren’s vacancy on the Ukiah City Council needs to be filled. Applications must be turned into the City by January 21. The City Council will decide on Jan. 28. Will it be you? There are many other positions needed in the County.

Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition (MWPC) provides training and support to women and men whether you’re interested in running for political office or serving as a volunteer on a local board or commission. We know it can be hard to get started, so we offer candidate training, financial support for women, volunteers, community awareness and more.

We would love to help you take an active role in government!
