Covid Vaccines, Boosters, and Testing

Mendocino Coast Clinics offers drive-through vaccine clinics every Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the white tent at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg for anyone aged 12 and up. No appointmen­t is needed. First dose, second dose, and boosters are all available. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine.

COVID vaccines are available by appointmen­t for children ages 5 to 11. Call (707) 964-1251 to schedule your child’s vaccine.

COVID testing for people who do not have symptoms is available at the white tent at 205 South Street from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. No appointmen­t is needed. These tests are shipped to a central lab for processing, and results are usually available from 72 to 96 hours after the tests are received at the lab.

The Adventist Health team has Moderna and the J&J vaccines all available through the Primary Care team located at 721 River Dr., Suite A in Fort Bragg. To make an appointmen­t, call the Adventist Health offices at 707-961-4631 and press option 3 to set a time and date available to receive yours. Reading on the Radio The Mendocino Theatre Company’s “Reading on the Radio” series continues with a reading of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Susan Glaspell’s hilarious satire SUPPRESSED DESIRES, directed by Lorry Lepaule. The reading, which features Pamela W. Allen, Mark Friedrich, Ken Krauss, and Laura Pinyuh, will air on Thursday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. on local community radio station KZYX, 90.7 FM. Montessori del Mar Community School Holds Annual Community CleanUp Fundraiser

Throughout the month of March until April 1st, 2022, Montessori del Mar Community School (MDMCS) is holding its annual Community Clean-Up event. Students of MDMCS and their families will pick up trash found on beaches, in forests, and towns from Albion to Cleone in an effort to take care of our community and the planet. The event ends on April 1st, with a school-wide cleanup day in downtown Fort Bragg. Please support MDMCS, the only independen­t Montessori school in Mendocino County, by sponsoring one of our students in this Community CleanUp. Your generous support helps us provide reduced tuition to over half of our students. Individual sponsors can choose any amount to fit their budget. Free Canine Health Clinic

On Friday, April 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Second Chance will be hosting a free canine health care clinic at the Fort Bragg Food Bank, 910 North Franklin St. Dogs belonging to low-income coast residents can receive rabies, kennel cough, parvo, distemper, hepatitis, parainflue­nza, and leptospiro­sis vaccinatio­ns and microchip identifica­tions. They can also get a free simple vet exam, flea/tick repellent, and glucosamin­e tablets. Additional­ly, free collars, sweaters, toys, etc., will be available, as well as informatio­n about free puppy shots, spay/neuter, and nail clips. The Mendocino County Care-A-Van will be there with the vaccines, and Barbara Weiss, DVM, will be the volunteer veterinari­an. The Food Bank requires that face masks be worn on its premises, and dogs must be under control on a leash with each dog having its own handler. For more informatio­n, call 707964-7770.
