Mendocino Art Center’s feast for the arts, April 18 at Café Beaujolais

-

MENDOCINO, CA » The Mendocino Art Center (MAC) will host Feast for the Arts, a fundraising dinner at Café Beaujolais, Monday, April 18, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with proceeds directly benefiting MAC’s Artists in Residence Program (AIR).

The three-course meal — with salad, entrée, and dessert — will be served amid Café Beaujolais’ beautiful gardens. The evening’s special menu will offer a choice of fish, chicken, or a vegan/ vegetarian option. The entire menu will be glutenfree. Café Beaujolais has generously provided its gardens for dining and its kitchen facilities for preparing this exquisite meal.

The Feast for the Arts is a night to celebrate MAC’s Artists in Residence for their contributions to the Art Center and the community, and raise funds to provide opportunities for residents to travel to conferences, take workshops through the Art Center, and deepen their studio practice by providing materials as well as studio space.

The AIR program is a core part of the Mendocino Art Center. Each year MAC brings artists from across the country and even the world to Mendocino for eight months. The artists bring a perspective and skillset built on their unique experiences to the Art Center which exposes our community to the broader art world. The energy and inspiration each resident brings are invaluable — their work decorates the MAC campus, they teach classes, share their ideas and perspectives, and their presence infuses the Art Center with new life each year.

MAC’s annual Artists in Residence Exhibit is currently showing through

May 1 and features a wide spectrum of new artwork — including functional and sculptural ceramics, paintings, and jewelry — created in MAC’s art studios by Winchi De Jesus, Miles McCreary, Grace Potter, Austyn Taylor, and Nan Whitney during their residencies
