Rack ‘em up:

So sad, but the undefeated Welcome Inn team # 1 was overwhelmed by Tip Top team

# 1 this past Tuesday night. The defeat, which was destined to happen eventually, comes with some slight relief from the pressure of being undefeated. The match was tied at the end of the first half, but Tip Top # 1 came alive and dominated the second half, with all wins going to Captain Dan and his teammates.

Welcome Inn team # 2 meanwhile hosted Milano Hotel and Bar team # 2 with Captain Perla Figueroa and teammates Donnie Applegate, Sayer Bayat, Jojo De-Loza, Julia Galiski, Jimmy Jennings, Sharon Morris, John Nordahl, Jacob Tupper, Mark Wright arrived at Welcome Inn with a plan to win. Games remained pretty even, and the lead changed back and forth until the last game. Captain Linda Long of Welcome Inn team # 2 won the game, with JoJo DeLoza of Milano Hotel and Bar Team # 2 also winning the match. The World turns, and the days pass by, and each week some teams will win, and some teams will lose.

Visit Fort Bragg Pool League sponsors: Angelina’s Grille & Bar, Golden West Saloon, Milano Hotel, and Bar, or Welcome Inn: all maintain a schedule of Fort Bragg Pool League players and teams. Look to the list for someone you might know and find where they are playing. You might join a team, make new friends, or watch 8-ball games unfold. The League plays at Sponsors every Tuesday at 7 pm, usually ending before 10 pm. Tournaments, when they are held, are posted near pool tables. Anyone can enter and compete.

CUE TIP >> Do you expect your opponents to help you keep up with the game? It seems we are cautious about taking advice from anyone except during a pool game when we often ask, “What am I”? Even though you have an opportunity to be brutally honest, you say instead what balls they should play. You will almost always get an honest answer when playing in a NON-LEAGUE pool game. Though, in a Tuesday night League game? With an obligation to the team first? Don’t be surprised if you hear something entirely different, and less than a candid response should be expected. Don’t you think? Your best defense really

comes down to being responsible for your own game. Some people carry around items for reminders. The Crutcher is one of those, he is always searching or scratching, so I finally asked him. His answer “When you become old, you need a few tricks just to keep up.” Whew, and here I was, thinking fleas or maybe even something worse.

Well, it seemed to me that they were still scratching at themselves, so I asked again. Turns out the Crutcher was searching for those reminder thingies they forgot to bring. If you discover you also ask your opponents for help, try to quit before it becomes your habit. Contact me at mcbohanon@gmail.com
