Proper technique will improve game

Rack `em up:

Welcome Inn Team #1 hosted Noyo River Grill Team #1 and had fun while losing the match. Luis and Gabe Medina of Noyo River Grill Team #1 are back from vacation, and as usual, they won their games for the team. While it was a close match, it was also fun. While Welcome Inn remains closed, the Golden West Saloon is letting the Welcome teams play home games at Golden West Saloon. That means four teams playing on League night, which means twice as many people to talk with. Yahoo! Up to forty pool players and friends are on the loose at one venue! Of course, it was fun!

If you haven't taken time to play the brandnew Valley pool tables at Golden West Saloon, you should. Why? When was the last time you played on a brand-new factory fresh table? That's your answer long before somebody dumps wine on the felt before somebody sits and crunches the edge of the rail cushions. And long before, the rail cushions had been loosened from thousands of balls hitting them and then retightened at less than perfect angels. Come down and play a new, perfectly performing table for once in your life. Mikael bought two, apparently for you and me to enjoy. Oh, and one more thing, eat first or bring lunch. Because those new tables play so well, you will be reluctant to leave them.

It was 8:17 pm on March 21st, 2024, and the Golden West was buzzing a little. The Thursday night 8-ball Tournament was about to start, and as the front door swung open, a tall and semi-spry Ridge Gorman stepped inside to play in the Tournament. Hmm, isn't it past his bedtime? Well, yes, but Ridge is a competitor, and he decided to go to bed early on another night. Undaunted, he would play a crowd of players decades younger than him. The reason I bring this up? Eyesight fades as time passes, so good eyesight is essential when playing pool. And Ridge has watched so much time for so many moons by now that he, uh, well, he uh, never mind. I point out he saw well enough to find the Golden West Saloon and enter the Tournament. Right? And when did the Tournament end? There was Ridge, squinting, probably needing a flashlight. Importantly, though, this is after the final game against Jubilee Placido. Jubilee had become another vanquished pool player, decades younger than the eyes of Ridge Gorman.

Thursday night 8-ball Tournaments at Golden West Saloon at 8:30 pm.

Cue Tip: Use social media to improve your skills. Watch videos on proper stance, stroke, bridge, or how to do almost anything in a pocket pool game. Honestly, there is no good reason to still play with bad stroke mechanics, or the poor stance adopted when you first started playing. Using a proper technique will improve your pool game.
