Concerts increase traffic
Popular bands nightly this weekend at Shoreline venue
MOUNTAIN VIEW — A jam-packed calendar of concerts will likely leave commuters honking their horns and stuck in bumper-tobumper traffic every night this weekend.
Three concerts are scheduled at Shoreline Amphitheatre, leading police to issue a warning for motorists.
“Plan accordingly as you head to the shows,” a Mountain View Police Department news release stated.
Friday, metal performers Korn and Rob Zombie will also play at Shoreline as a part of the Return of The Dreads Tour.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and parking lots open at 4:30 p.m.
Katie Nelson, a public information officer for the Mountain View Police Department, said that people should aim to leave work a bit earlier than usual to avoid the delays.
Saturday and Sunday’s Shoreline shows are sold out and will attract the largest crowds. Alternative group Dead & Company, which consists of Grateful Dead alumni, will perform starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
In addition, punk band Panic! At the Disco and feel-good alternative group Weezer play at the venue starting 7 p.m. Sunday.
Traffic was expected to be the heaviest on Thursday night when county star Keith Urban was set to perform at Shoreline, and Castro Street hosted a farmers market, classic car show and live music.
In San Jose, singer Adele is scheduled to perform at sold-out concerts Saturday and Sunday at SAP Arena.
