Britney Spears is not thrilled about Lifetime biopic
Britney Spears says she wants nothing to do with a planned Lifetime movie that follows the ups and downs of her personal story.
“Britney Spears will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic, nor does it have her blessing,” a representative for Spears told Us Weekly.
Lifetime on Wednesday announced that the two-hour film is due in 2017. Natasha Bassett, who previously appeared in “Hail, Caesar!” has been tapped to play Spears in “Britney.”
In a news release, Lifetime said the movie will follow Spears from her origins as a smalltown Louisiana girl to her life as a Mouseketeer and then a pop superstar and will cover her unlucky love life, including, no doubt, her rocky romance with Justin Timberlake and her doomed nuptials to backup dancer Kevin Federline, the father of her two sons.
And, yes, the movie will likely review Spears’ rockbottom moments: her infamous head shaving, her flop of a performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards and her nervous breakdown.
Spears, 34, is on a personal and professional upswing these days, with her popular Las Vegas show raking in money and her ninth studio album, “Glory,” dropping Friday.
Homeland Security probing hack of Leslie Jones photos
Homeland Security investigators are looking for the hacker who broke into Leslie Jones’ iCloud account and posted her driver’s license, passport and naked photos of her on her website.
“ICE Homeland Security Investigations in New Britney Spears has said she will not be contributing to the Lifetime biopic that will review everything from her small-town beginnings to her infamous head shaving. York does currently have an open investigation,” an agency spokesman said in a statement Thursday. “We are unable to disclose any information related to an Jones active inves
tigation.” Jones has been the target of online haters since she starred in “Ghostbusters” earlier this summer. She faced an onslaught of racist comments.
In the latest outrage, a hacker posted a video of a gorilla and sexually explicit photos of the actress on her website, which has since been taken down.
