San Jose police release video of two suspects

Police said one of the suspects brandished a knife at the victim

SAN JOSE — Police on Thursday revealed new details about last weekend’s stabbing of a San Jose State University football player and released surveillan­ce video and images of two suspects.

A San Jose police officer was flagged down at about 1 a.m. Sunday and told that a person had been stabbed near Post and South First streets. Officers found a man suffering from at least one stab wound.

University officials identified the victim as Chad Miller, who started three games at safety last season. An update on his condition was not immediatel­y available, but he was expected to recover.

On Thursday, police said one of the suspects brandished a knife at the victim over an argument. A fracas involving 15 to 20 people then broke out and the victim was stabbed.

Police also released pho- tos and video of the suspects in the hopes someone might recognize them.

The suspect who brandished the knife was described as Asian or Hispanic, 21 to 28 years old, 5-foot-6 and 176 pounds with a heavy build. He also had a ponytail or Mongolian hairstyle, beard and a mustache and was last seen wearing an oversized white shirt, black beanie, dark denim pants and white shoes, according to police.

The suspect who stabbed the victim was described as Hispanic and 20 to 30 years old. He also had hair that was shaved on the sides and longer on the top and was last seen wearing a gray snapback hat with a black bill, dark-colored pants and black shoes, according to police.

Both suspects also appeared to have tattoos on their arms.
