Trespassers set loose brawling bulls, police say
FREMONT » Authorities have finally figured out how two boisterous bulls ended up fighting one another in the middle of an otherwise quiet residential neighborhood Tuesday.
In a tweet Wednesday, Fremont police said the bovines got loose after trespassers left a gate to their pen open.
It was all hands on deck Tuesday morning when a neighbor called police to report a bullfight on the 200 block of Castro Lane.
Authorities had settled on using tranquilizers to subdue the bulls when the owners arrived and “helped MOOve the two back to their property,” police said.
Police said the owners, who received a pair of $100 citations, will pay for the damage.
“The owners are good neighbors to the surrounding residents and have been very responsive,” police said.
