Tres­passers set loose brawl­ing bulls, po­lice say

FRE­MONT » Au­thor­i­ties have fi­nally fig­ured out how two bois­ter­ous bulls ended up fight­ing one another in the mid­dle of an other­wise quiet res­i­den­tial neigh­bor­hood Tues­day.

In a tweet Wed­nes­day, Fre­mont po­lice said the bovines got loose af­ter tres­passers left a gate to their pen open.

It was all hands on deck Tues­day morn­ing when a neigh­bor called po­lice to re­port a bull­fight on the 200 block of Cas­tro Lane.

Au­thor­i­ties had set­tled on us­ing tran­quil­iz­ers to sub­due the bulls when the own­ers ar­rived and “helped MOOve the two back to their prop­erty,” po­lice said.

Po­lice said the own­ers, who re­ceived a pair of $100 ci­ta­tions, will pay for the dam­age.

“The own­ers are good neigh­bors to the sur­round­ing res­i­dents and have been very re­spon­sive,” po­lice said.
