WillCavs suffer fromKardashianCurse?
Tristan Thompson didn’t play so hot in Game 3 of the NBA Finals onWednesday, and neither did his Cleveland Cavaliers, who lost to the Golden State Warriors, 110-102.
But Khloe Kardashian was there, rooting for Thompson, the father of her baby daughter, TMZ reported. The show of support comes at a time when the reality TV star may or may not be wavering in her commitment to stick by the 27-year- old forward, who was caught up in a cheating scandal in the days before she gave birth.
Thompson reportedly went into the game determined to right the wrongs of a troubled season, which for him has included the tabloid attention surrounding his romance with Kardashian, but also a calf injury and a string of lackluster performances.
“We know how important it is to get Game 3,” Thompson said to reporters Tuesday. “This is the most important game of the series. We gotta go out and leave it all out there.”
Meanwhile, Kardashian hadherown reasons tofeel anxious about Wednesday night’s game, Hollywood Life reported.
“She’s so emotionally invested, this isn’t just a game for her, in her mind their whole relationship could depend on him winning,” a Kardashian family “insider” told Hollywood Life. “If he loses, it could potentially be devastating for them as a couple because Khloe fears Tristan will subconsciously blame her for the loss.”
Yes, the insider raised the specter of the “Kardashian curse.” This is the idea that men’s lives go downhill after they date or get married to one of the five Kardashian sisters. The curse is supposed to be especially problematic for male athletes.
“As stupid as the Kardashian curse rumors are they have an impact,” the insider toldHollywood Life. “People taunt Tristan about them, and Khloe’s terrified he’s secretly going to hold it against her, or resent her unfairly if he loses and the Kardashian curse gets blamed. She’s praying night and day that he wins.”
The Cavaliers have lost the first three games to the Warriors and have just one more chance tonight to stay in the best-of-seven series.
