Fong brings perspective, skills Sunnyvale needs

The Mercury News Weekend - - OPINION -

— Bob and Margaret Lawson, Sunnyvale

Mason Fong, who is running for Sunnyvale City Council District 3, is our choice.

Mason is a graduate in urban planning; he studied land use, transportation and housing, issues that are relevant to Sunnyvale. He now works in the office of San Jose City Councilman Chappie Jones, so he understands how city policy is developed. He is chair of the Sunnyvale Board of Library Trustees, an important position as Sunnyvale will soon build a new library.

Mason brings a different point of view Sunnyvale needs; if elected, he’d be the youngest City Council member, and only the third AsianAmerican City Council member in a majority/minority city

His work in the offices of Congressmen Mike Honda and Ro Khanna gave him a regional perspective on major issues like traffic, affordable housing and the environment.

The Mercury News gave him a glowing endorsement: “the potential to be a political standout.”

We agree. Vote for Mason Fong for Sunnyvale City Council, District 3.
