PG&E preventative care now will avert disaster

-

My neighbors and I live on a Santa Cruz Mountains road on which virtually every section of power lines is overgrown by tree branches.

I received a letter earlier this month from PG&E that they would be on my property to trim trees away from power lines. They never came.

PG&E makes over a billion dollars in profit annually, yet its yards are full of trucks that do not move. PG&E needs to use some of that profit to hire crews and actively find and trim trees away from power lines, especially in rural areas.

Climate change has left the Santa Cruz Mountains and other rural places primed tinderboxes ready for the next major fire.

Preventative care now by PG&E can avert the next major disaster that is only a large gust of wind away. Fire safety concerns us all. It’s time for PG&E to step up and fulfill its part.
