What about this indicates Gov. Brown ‘remarkable’?

-

Re: “Who’s on top? Historians say Brown deserves seat among state’s finest leaders — for climate change efforts, diversity in state government, standing up to Trump, averting fiscal disaster” (Page A1, Dec. 23):

Jerry Brown “remarkable”? That’s hardly the case.

California was recently ranked dead last in a study by U.S. News & World Report for quality of life. We have the highest poverty rate of any state in the country. We have one of (if not) the highest homeless population of any state and it continues to grow.

Our schools are ranked in the bottom third of the country. We are one of the highest taxed states in the country. Our roads and infrastructure are falling apart and the only solution we can think of is taxing the residents even more. Housing is unaffordable to a vast majority of the working population. Wealth inequality is a huge problem that continues to grow. The CalPERS pension system is billions of dollars in the hole. PG&E is now a convicted felon, while simultaneously attempting to take more of our money.
