Without balance in D.C., Biden must lead wisely

For me, it was bitterswee­t that the Democrats won the Senate. A Republican victory would have been a better option because it would have provided some balance.

We now have a disenfranc­hised Republican Party (or Trump party) of 74 million enthusiast­ic people who lost power. They are not going to sit on their hands. No Senate, no House, no president, and a Supreme Court that recently went the other way on two rulings. Democracy works better with shared power.

Thank God we have Joe Biden, who I think is the only man in America who has the smarts and wisdom to try to bring us together.
