Violence in D.C. inspires sadness

I am so sad. I have been watching the horrible events taking place in Washington, D.C. Having been a student of the history and government of our country and having taught at the high school level for many years, I have always been so proud of our country and its many accomplishments.

Today during this insurrection we reached a new low. I am no longer proud. I ask all Americans, “Is this what you really want?” I hope not.

We have an opportunity to again shine. If the road on which we are traveling today continues, we will not get the opportunity again. Make the right choice. Will history show this to be the beginning of the end? Think long and hard.
