Police arrest one man, seek suspect in second incident

MORGAN HILL — Officers quickly arrested a man suspected of kidnapping and raping a woman Wednesday morning, but a suspect in another assault less than 24 hours earlier remains at large, police said Saturday.

The first attack was reported about 2 p. m. Tuesday. An 18- yearold woman said that an acquain-tance, Eladio Cruz Facio, had sexually assaulted her while she was visiting him at an auto repair shop. Facio, a San Jose resident, is still at large, police said.

The second incident was reported about 8: 50 a. m. Wednesday by a 33year- old woman who called 911, saying she had been kidnapped and raped. The suspect in that case was identified as Roberto Andres Lopez, 33, of Morgan Hill. Offi cers located Lopez a few hours later and arrested him.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has charged Lopez with rape, sexual penetratio­n, assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonme­nt.
