The Earthquakes won’t have starting center backs Paulo Renato and Victor Bernardez available for the game Sunday against the Chicago Fire that will officially open Avaya Stadium.

Coach Dominic Kinnear said Renato is out after pulling a hamstring muscle during the team’s 3- 2 victory over Seattle last weekend. Bernardez already was suspended after receiving a red card early in the second half Saturday against the Sounders.

San Jose also doesn’t expect to have midfielder Jean- Baptiste Pierazzi, who pulled a quadriceps muscle that kept him out of the Seattle game. But forwards Steven Lenhart and Mike Fucito returned to training this week. Lenhart, who missed the entire preseason while recovering from a knee injury, could make the 18man roster for the home opener.

In another development, defender Brandon Barklage and the Earthquakes have mutually agreed to part ways. Barklage, 28, appeared in 13 games last season as a right fullback. But he lost out this year to new arrival Marvell Wynne.

The Earthquakes n have launched the Avaya Stadium app for both Android and iOS ahead of opening their new 18,000seat stadium. The app provides access to Ticketmaster’s mobile ticketing platform, stadium and parking maps, searchable stadium amenities and driving routes as well as Earthquakes player information. The wireless network GOQUAKES will let fans connect from anywhere in the stadium.
