Andrew Daschbach, IF, Sacred Heart Prep, sr. PAL Bay player of the year, bound for Stanford to play baseball, hit a teamleading .418 with 12 extrabase hits. The three-sport star (football, basketball) also scored 29 runs. Jake Dermer, P/IF, Leland, senior First-team all-BVAL Mt. Hamilton Division player led the Chargers to a CCS Division I title, going 9-2 with a 0.90 ERA and hitting .389. Ryan Gault, IF, Los Gatos, senior First-team all-SCVAL De Anza Division player led co-division champ Los Gatos in hitting with a .345 average, finishing with 39 hits in 113 at-bats. He also was strong defensively. Justin Hull, P/IF/OF, Palo Alto, senior SCVAL De Anza Division MVP went 5-2 with a 0.94 ERA, striking out 62 in 591⁄3 innings. He also hit .337 and had a .459 on-base percentage. Hunter Schilperoort, IF/P, Westmont, junior BVAL Mt. Hamilton MVP led Westmont to the division title, hitting .434 with an on-base percentage of .533, both tops on the team. He also went 5-2 on the mound. Patrick Wicklander, P/OF, Valley Christian, soph. WCAL pitcher of the year finished 8-3 with a 0.59 ERA. He struck 1out 89 and walked 19 in 83 ⁄3 innings. His three losses were by 1-0 scores. Jeremy Ydens, OF/P, St. Francis, senior Mercury News player of the year led the CCS Open champion Lancers in hitting (.453, 48 hits). He also was 8-0 on the mound with a 0.96 ERA.
