SAN JOSE — Two women were killed and a suspected drunken driver was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a crash in South San Jose on Sunday night, according to San Jose police.

The collision was reported at 9:16 p.m. on Camden Avenue at Bose Lane, west of Almaden Expressway. According to police, a gray 2008 Honda Accord was eastbound on Camden and turning left onto Bose when the vehicle was broadsided by a westbound gold 1998 Toyota Camry.

Two female passengers who were seated on the Accord’s right side were pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger has been identified as Marjorie Devine, 95, of San Jose. The rear passenger was identified as 73year-old Donna Perucca.

A 75-yearold man driving the Accord was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Camry, 34-year-old Marvin Gatherwright, of San Jose, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of two counts of manslaughter and three counts of DUI causing great bodily injury. Police said there was immediate evidence at the crash site suggesting that Gatherwright was driving impaired.
