Emoji-inspired sex toy popular in San Jose

San Jose is known for many things, but even IA was excited to discover that the Capital of Silicon Valley tops U.S. sales for a new emoji-inspired device called, uh, the Emojibator.

The curvy purple eggplant emoji, as every geek and texter knows, is the digital world’s unofficial phallic symbol.

The $32 sex toy was reportedly created by a 26year-old former engineer in Philadelph­ia who took on the pseudonym of Launched just one month ago, the Emojibator is, according to the website https://emojibator. com, waterproof and has 10 vibration settings.

Since the launch, the company said it’s run reports on new customer sales in all 50 states. Narrowing its study down to major American cities, ranked according to product sold per capita, San Jose has apparently inched up to first place, said

of Pop Culture Public Relations. The Capital of Silicon Valley is ahead of San Francisco, Fresno, Bakersfiel­d, Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento.

But maybe it’s better that San Jose stick to something more official. In its new report called “The Making of Global Cities: Stories from the Global Cities Exchange” (see http:// brook.gs/2dk86k0), the Brookings Institutio­n last week listed San Jose as first among 18 knowledge cities in patents per 1,000 people and for venture capital.

Now that’s something to get excited about!
