Pinole Valley 28-27 and improve to 6-0. Dieontae Malan threw a touchdown pass to Kris Miles, and the extra point made it 27-25. A field goal by Hercules provided the winning points with under a minute remaining . ... Kennedy of Fremont kept its record unblemishe­d at 5-0 by beating

American 22-13 in a Mission Valley Athletic League contest. Kennedy rushed for 340 yards, with Darius Moses leading the way with 184. Vincent Larsen had 104 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Nicholas Loya contribute­d 11 tackles . ... Monte Vista improve to 5-0 by beating

Valley 24-14. It was the first EBAL victory of the season for Livermore (2-3).

South Bay/Peninsula

Burlingame (3-2) edged Sacred Heart Prep 14-7. It was Burlingame’s first win over SHP since 2010 . ... Cupertino’s Alex Bruckhaus had another big game, rolling up 164 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-14 win over Gunn. Cupertino improved to 5-1 . ... Chase Hofmann ran for 244 yards and scored four touchdowns in Half Moon Bay’s (5-0) victory over Menlo. The winners raced out to a 36-6 lead before Menlo (4-1) scored 21 unanswered points to get back in the contest . ... Homestead improved to 3-2 by beating Monta

Vista 44-6. Quarterbac­k Jack Barden made the most of his five pass completion­s, with three of them going for touchdowns. ... James Lick edged Andrew

Hill 28-27, but Hill quarterbac­k Eli Gonzalez had a big night, going 13-for-19 passing with 170 yards and four TDs. Three of his touchdowns went to Shakwon Williams . ... Michael Brohn carried 27 times for 203 yards and a pair of scores in Leigh’s (4-1) 28-7 win over Live Oak. Quarterbac­k Jared King threw for 141 yards and ran for 76 more . ... Stavro Papadakis of Menlo-Atherton was busy on both sides of the ball in his team’s 28-8 thumping of Terra Nova.
