Long run Ex-Raider joins Vegas team
Proponents of an NFL stadium that would lure the Raiders to Las Vegas have landed another big name to their team – former Raiders defensive end Howie
Long. Long, who spent his rookie season in Oakland in 1981 and played the rest of his 13-year career in L.A., joined leaders from the Laborers Union, Caesars Entertainment and UNLV football for a news conference to rally support for a plan that would build the stadium with the aid of $750 million in public money. Nevada lawmakers likely will be called into a special session later this month to consider ways to finance the stadium.
