Baseball/softball Clark Eder, California: Pitched a complete game one-hitter, striking out five in a 5-1 win over Amador Valley. He also reached base four times in the game and scored a run. Eder has an ERA of 1.01 through 272⁄3 innings pitched this season with 30 strikeouts. Nicole Hammoude, Bishop O’Dowd: Went 3 for 5 with three RBIs, three runs scored, a double and a home run in a loss to Arroyo. Hammoude is batting .656 with 19 runs scored in nine games this season and the Dragons are 7-3 with a 2-2 record in league play. Jordan Maddox, Monte Vista: Went 1 for 3 with a home run in a loss to Sheldon. She also went 2 for 4 with a grand slam in a win over Rodriguez. Maddox is batting .415 on the season with 22 RBIs and seven home runs through 13 games. Justin Nam, Menlo: Had three hits and three RBIs in a 16-2 win over South San Francisco. He also hit a triple in a loss to South San Francisco two days earlier. Menlo is 5-1 in Peninsula Athletic League Ocean play. Grady Ryan, Oak Grove: Combined to go 6 for 6 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a double in a win over Del Mar and a loss to Leigh. Ryan leads all CCS players with a .644 batting average. The Eagles are 6-9 overall with a 4-2 league record. Dexter Varrelmann, Athenian: Combined to go 5 for 6 with two runs scored, an RBI and a double in two wins over Valley Christian-Dublin. Varrelmann is batting .640, and the Owls are 6-2 with a 2-1 record in league play. Kenzie Yamakoshi, The King’s Academy: Went 4 for 4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a double in a win over Mercy. Yamakoshi is batting .576 on the season with 30 RBIs and 28 runs scored as the Knights improved to 11-5-1 with a 5-1 league record. Other spring sports Mark Ball, Menlo tennis: Posted a pair of 6-0 wins with partner Sid Chari in Menlo’s 7-0 win over Priory and teamed with Tucker Matta for wins as the No. 1 doubles against Sacred Heart Prep to help Menlo clinch a share of the WBAL title. Bella Ciarico, Notre Dame-San Jose lacrosse: Scored three goals in a loss to Sacred Heart Prep and another three goals in a loss to Sequoia. She has scored 16 goals in eight games this season for the Regents. Sebastian Iqbal, Pioneer golf: Shot an impressive 6under par 30 in a match against Evergreen Valley on the Mountain course at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club and followed that up with a 5-under par 31 in a match against Santa Teresa just days later on the same course. Scott Little, Menlo swimming: Won the 200 free, 400 free and was part of the 400 medley relay win to help lead Menlo to a victory against The King’s Academy. Annie Payne, Menlo-Atherton lacrosse: Totaled 11 goals in two victories. She scored four goals in a 13-7 win over Archbishop Mitty and seven goals in a 14-10 victory against St. Francis. Payne has scored 33 goals in 12 games as the Bears are 9-3 overall with a 4-1 record in league play. Charlotte Swisher, Menlo lacrosse: Scored four goals with four draw controls in a 15-5 win over Archbishop Mitty and two goals in a win over Sacred Heart Prep. Menlo is 5-0 in WBAL play.
